Bring the nostalgia of Singapore Kopitiam's to your home by pouring brewed Tea Dust Kopi traditional way with our hand assembled Kopitiam Tea Pot.

A mainstay of Singapore Kopitiams [Coffee Shops] in Singapore, this batch-brew tea pourer allows for a steady and quick pour. Made from high quality soft steel, it's light and easy to manage. It can hold up to 15 cups worth of brewed Tea Dust [depending on Teh/-O/-C, Teh Tarik etc] and should be used in conjunction with the 'Kopitiam Brewing Pot'.

Use

Simply placed a Tea Sock Filter into the mouth of the pot, then pour brewed brewed Traditional Tea Dust into the filter at a height of about 50 cm (be careful - brewed Tea is HOT! ) The Tea Sock Filter will filter out all of the Traditional Tea Dust ready for you to begin the filtering process to develop flavour, fragrance and character.

Pour the filtered Tea Base Brew back into the Coffee / Tea Brewing Pot and then filter again into the Tea Sock Filter at a medium-slow, ensuring to maximise contact with as much Traditional Tea Dust as possible. This introduces oxygen and agitates the Traditional Tea Dust into releasing it's qualities.

For Teh Tarik, the filtering should be repeated 10 times. The result should be a Tea Base Brew that's strong, astringent, malty, 'over-brewed' and full of tannin. It can be diluted or used as is.

For Teh/O/C, the filtering should be repeated at least 7 times. The result should be a strong floral-malty tea that will seemingly require diluting. Some astringency and tannin will be present.

Compatible with: Electric Hob, Induction Hob - use hobs to keep Tea Base Brew warm or to bring back to temperature when needed

N.B.: Induction Hobs vary with sensitivity. There is a 1 cm approx lip below the pot which some induction units may be unable to 'scan' to activate their induction element. Contact us if in doubt.

Capacity

1.5L Filtered Tea Base Brew, with filled Tea Sock Filter left in mouth of pot. Enough for:

• 15x 100g Tea Base Brew portions for 8oz Teh/-O/-C, or
• 7-8x 200g Tea Base Brew portions for strong 8oz Teh Tarik

Care Instructions

Hand wash with hot water and detergent, and rinse well.
